Design to cost, end costs and target costs are all terms for the same goal. In other words, the price of a product does not depend upon the indexed costs but on the market price. “How much is the customer prepared to pay”.

The development, design and construction accounts for approx. 70% of the cost of the product. A calculation accompanying the design process is needed in order to arrive at the target costs.
